2 Corinthians 4:5, For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.
The Christian faith is not about you; it is about Jesus Christ. Yes, Christ died and rose for you, but the focus is still on Christ and what He has done, is doing, and will do. It is not about your feelings or even what you can do for Christ; it is always about what Christ has done, is doing, and will do. You are merely the instrument, not the musician. When a musician performs, the crowd cheers for the musician, not the saxophone. In the same way, our proclamation should produce the result that the hearers praise Christ, not you; and that you praise Christ for His work, not yourself.
