The soft purr of cats and taste of potato fries,
a rare sirloin steak and walleye filet,
smooth rye whiskey and the Word of God:

My wife with Finnish winters in her veins, —
her soft, cold hands holding my sweltering palms,
her pristine voice and delicate touch:
These are a few of my favourite things.
When the devil bites,
when stress is weighty,
when evil rears its ugly head,
I simply enjoy my favourite things, —
blessings the Lord has provided me.
