When God Speaks

Psalm 33:9, For He spoke, and it came to be; He commanded, and it stood firm.

When God speaks, stuff happens. When God speaks, He acts. God’s language is totally different than our language. When we speak, words fill empty air. When the Creator speaks, things happen. This is how we know God is still with us, despite what shows like Supernatural may imply.

When flowers grow, rain falls, snow falls, the wind blows, the sun burns, and babies are born, etc., God is speaking; for where there is creation, God is speaking. Thus, if the God who said, “Let there be light” also said, “This is My body… This is My blood,” the bread and wine must also be His body and blood. If He said Baptism actually does something to us (cf. Romans 6), it must not be a mere symbol. We must take God at His Word. If we cannot even believe these words, how can we say with any certainty that He also created the universe?
