A poem on Matthew 21:1-11.
To Bethphage’s edge, near Olives’ crest,
the Savior turned to His disciples blest.
“Go find a Colt and Donkey tied;
bring both to Me, which I shall ride.
“Say this to all who ask of thee:
‘The Lord has need,’ and they’ll agree.”
This fulfilled the prophet’s voice of old, —
a King who comes, both Meek and Bold:
“Behold, thy King thus gentle near,
no chariot grand or sword to fear.
He rides in Peace on Donkey’s back, —
a Humble path, no warlike track.”
The people spread their cloaks with care
while Palm Leaves filled the fragrant air.
“Hosanna!” rose their loud acclaim.
“Blessèd is He who comes to Reign!”
From David’s house, their King had come
to heal the Blind and guide the Dumb.
The city stirred, the crowds did cry,
“Who is this King who passes by?”
“This is Jesus,” they said forthwith,
“the Prophet who’s from Nazareth.”
Yes, He is the King full of Grace
to Save people of every race.

Amen 🙏
