A poem on Luke 2:1-14.
In the days of Caesar’s vast decree,
the world was called for registry.
Each traveled to their homeland
to register every woman and man.
Therefore, to Bethlehem did come
a man named Joseph to his home.
With Mary, soon to bear her Child,
they sought a room, every inn compiled.
A stable offered Manger’s nest
where the King would humbly rest.
Her son was born, and Mary smiled;
she wrapped Him tight—her Holy Child.
Some shepherds watched their flock at night
when skies were pierced by Heaven’s Light.
An angel spoke, “Do not dismay;
Good News I bring to you today!
“For unto you in David’s town,
a Savior comes to wear the Crown.
The Christ is born, your Lord and King.
To Him let all our praises bring!”
Then suddenly the heavens rang
as countless Hosts rejoiced and sang:
“Glory to God in Heaven’s height,
and Peace to those who see His Light!”
