No. 2394, Israel Prays for Deliverance (Poetry)

This is not a political poem about the state of Israel; it is merely a poem on Psalm 60.

O Lord, You’ve cast us off, it’s clear;
Your Anger burnsโ€”Your voice severe.
Restore us now; our hearts are torn,
like earth that quakesโ€”a world forlorn.

You’ve shown Your people trials vast, โ€”
a cup of trembling we’ve amassed.
But for the Faithful, You have raised
a Banner high through storm and haze.

Deliver those You hold in Love;
O hear our cry from realms above!
For vain is help from mortal hand;
You will lead and take command.

With God, we march with courage stout;
He treads our foes and casts them out.
In triumph Sure, His name we boast, โ€”
our Strength, our Guide, the Lord of Hosts.

So grant us Aidโ€”our path made clear, โ€”
and then Your face, O Lord, draw near.
For You alone our Victory bring ,โ€”
our Shield, Savior, and our King.
