No. 2365, The Taste of Goodness (Poetry)

A poem on Psalm 34.

I bless the Lord at every hour;
His Praise my lips can’t help devour.
My soul will boast in what He’s done.
Let all the Humble join as one.

Come, Magnify the Lord with me, โ€”
Exalt His name and you will see.
I sought the Lord; He heard my plea, โ€”
Delivered me and set me free.

Those who look up will shine with Grace, โ€”
no shadows shame their lifted face.
The poor man called; the Lord replied;
His Angel camps where Saints reside.

O taste and see the Lord is Good, โ€”
it comes in His Sweet holy Blood.
Fear Him, you saints; you’ll lack no Bread,
for He sustains, and you are Fed.

The young lions hunger, weak and lean,
but those who Trust shan’t be demeaned.
Come, listen well, and I’ll impart
the Fear of God to Guide your heart.

Turn from evil, seek what’s Right, โ€”
pursue the Peace that ends a fight.
The Lord is near the Broken soul
and saves the crushed to make them Whole.

Though Righteous ones may face their strife,
the Lord will Guard their very life.
No bone is brokenโ€”all will Heal, โ€”
for He Redeems with love that’s real.

Let Wickedness not rise again, โ€”
its ways Destroyed, its might in Vain.
But those who Trust will not be lost,
for God has Saved us at all costs.
