No. 2357, The Voice Upon the Waters (Poetry)

A poem on Psalm 29.

Give to the Lord, O sons of Light,
the Glory due His Name and Might.
Adorned in Splendor, bow the knee,
and Worship Him in Majesty.

The Voice of God is on the Deep;
it Stirs the waves from quiet sleep.
Its Thunder roars, its echoes fly;
it Shakes the seas and Splits the sky.

The Voice of God, with Power and Flame,
breaks Cedars down, the proudest claim.
It leaps upon the Mountains high
and causes Forests bare to lie.

It shakes the Desert, still and wide,
and stirs the earth on every side.
Its Glory fills the Temple’s air,
and all within cry, “God is here!”

The Lord sat throned in Flood’s fierce tide;
forever King, He shall abide.
He gives His Strength to Bless His own,
and grants His Peace from Heaven’s Throne.
