No. 2354, The Path of the Upright (Poetry)

A poem on Psalm 26.

Judge me, O Lord, for I have walked
in steadfast Faith, not lightly balked.
I Trust in You; my steps are sure,
my heart and hands both clean and pure.

Examine me, O Lord, and test
the thoughts that dwell within my breast.
Your Love is ever in my sight,
Your Truth my Guide through day and night.

I shun the Vileโ€”their Wicked schemes, โ€”
and walk not where their Folly gleams.
I sit not with the Proud or Vain,
nor tread the paths where Lies remain.

I wash my hands in Waters clear,
and seek Your Altar I endear.
I lift my voice in Thankful song,
and tell Your Deeds, both great and long.

I love the House where You reside;
Your Glory dwells where saints Abide.
Redeem me, Lord; my soul is True,
and keep me near to dwell with You.

On level ground my feet shall stand
within the Throng, a Faithful band.
With Joy I’ll bless Your holy Name,
and live to Praise Your endless fame.
