No. 2352, The King of Glory (Poetry)

A poem on Psalm 24.

The Earth is God and all it bears, —
the seas, the skies, the mountain airs.
For He has set its waters deep
and raised its heights from ocean’s sleep.

Who dares ascend His holy Hill?
Who stands within His Temple still?
The one whose hands and heart are Pure,
whose soul is Steadfast, clean, and sure.

He’ll receive Blessing from the Lord, —
a Righteousness that’s deeply stored.
This is the Flock that seeks His face
and calls upon the God of Grace.

Lift up your Heads, O ancient Gates!
Be lifted High—the King awaits!
The King of Glory comes in might
to Rule the world with Holy Light.

Who is this King so Strong and Wise?
Jesus Christ who’ll rend the Skies.
Lift high your Gates—make room, prepare;
the King of Glory enters there!

The Lord of Hosts, both strong and free,
the King of Glory has come to be.
To Him belongs the Earth, the seas,
and all who worship His majesty.
