No. 2321, The Stone was Rolled Away (Poetry)

A hill stood quiet in the gray of dawn,
its shadows stretched where morning might have shown.
The Earth was still; the world yet held its breath,
awaiting news that death had conquered Death.

The stone that sealed the tomb was rolled aside,
and light poured forth where darkness used to hide.
An empty grave now speaks what words could not:
that love endured, though life had seemed forgot.

The gardener stood, though none knew whom He’d be,
His voice as soft as whispers through the trees.
“Why do you weep?” He asked. “Whom do you seek?”
And in His tone, His strength made sorrow weak.

The woman turned, and in a single sound,
He spoke her name, and hope was found.
Her heart ablaze, she ran to tell the rest:
the Savior lives; His promise stood the test!

Now the news spreads through every spring:
Christ is risen; He is risen indeed!
A promise blooms where shadows once held sway;
eternal dawn has chased the night away.
