Too often, Christians think, “Because Christ has forgiven me, I can do whatever sin I want without regret.” No, you cannot; that is Christian sociopathy. Faith in Christ does not permit licentiousness; He does not give us a licence to sin. For if that were true, why bother believing in Christ at all? Indeed, why would Christ have bothered to suffer and die for our sins only to permit sinful living? Rather, now that He has called us to faith, He has set us free to walk in His way—the way of grace, mercy, and life, not sin and destruction
