Beckett: Poetry – No. 2215, My Heart is Steadfast

Based on Psalm 57:7-11.

You've made my heart steadfast;
thus, my melodies amass!
     Awake, O brass and strings,
and raise your praises as a mast!

I give thanks to God with the people
under the congregation's steeple.
     Let praises echo throughout the nations
with hymns of praises regal!

For His steadfast love and faithfulness
are far above the earth's address.
     His glory is over all the earth
to forgive all that we transgress!
